The Sanctuary is fenced to prevent disturbing the birds and access is not generally permitted. There are four raised viewing berms on the perimeter to see over the fence. There are no hides.
It is free to view the Sanctuary area from outside.
Walkers / Families: The perimeter is 2.5km around with a grassed verge which is safe for walking. There are numerous benches and shaded areas suitable for picnics on the grass.
There are no toilet facilities in the suburb. Walk on the right of the road, facing oncoming traffic.
Dogs: Keep dogs on leashes and pick up after them to keep Korsman pleasant for all. There are six community dog poo bag dispensers around the perimeter.
Cyclists: Ride on the left. The safest direction is anti-clockwise, as this avoids intersections.
Photographers: The Conservancy is opened occasionally for photographers days. Numbers are limited and members have priority. Contact us if you wish to be notified of future events.
To photograh over the fence, bring a stepladder and a beanbag to rest your lens.
The best way to see inside: join a work party for litter pick-up or alien vegetation removal!
Overseas Visitors: Contact us for more information.
The area: The Sanctuary is within a 'considered safe' boomed residential suburb of Lakefield / Westdene. There are six entrance gates into the suburb. There are cafes and restaurants in nearby Western Extension.
